Fatty liver per say does not cause serious healthy issue, but, it leads to fat deposition in liver which causes liver inflammation, which may land up later in complications such as cirrhosis and complete liver failure. Since the liver is quite a large tissue, its repair needs a longer duration of time to be back to normal while on treatment. Also, following such treatment, you need to have a regular follow-up as to see weather things are maintained within normal limits or not.
