Should MRSA On The Scalp Be Rinsed And Kept Open To Dry And Heal?
My son was diagnosed with Mrsa....its on his scalp....he is on antibiotics and as cream to apply to his head....it seems like the puss did stop oozing but his scalp is so raw....should I keep applying cream and putting on guaze( it seems like that is keeping area moist and not healing) or should I try and rinse the area with warm water and let the air get 2 the area...it hard because of location...its rt above his ear

As per your case history your son is probably having superficial bacterial infection. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid applying soap or antiseptic lotion like Dettol on that part. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
