Should Metformin Have Been Given Along With Invokana?

My doctor has me on Invokana 100mg and Metformin 1000 MG day. I seem to have low blood sugar issues so I stopped the Metformin. I am losing weight as expected with Invokana. I now feel great with just the Invokana, and Blood Sugar is great (115 fasting). Should Metformin have been given along with Metformin or should only Invokana been given?

Hello,
Your doctor was right in prescribing you both medicines.
Since you have reduced weight, that is why you need lesser dose of antidiabetic medication and that is the reason for your low sugar levels.
You have rightly stopped metformin.
Just keep monitoring your blood sugar levels because,if they go haywire then you would again need the additional anti diabetic drug.
Thanks
