Should Montek LC Be Continued Despite The Cough Disappearing?
I had incessant cough for the last 2 months and was given 4 rounds of antibiotics & nothing worked, my chest started to ache and i was unable to sleep nearly sitting up the entire night. yesterday a doc gave me montek LC and the cough disappeared like magic. does it mean i have asthma?i have been asked to take a 30 days course. is this enoguh to get rid of this cough or this cough likely to come back one i stop taking montek...pls reply
Montek lc is a combination of 2 medicines- Montelukast and levocetrizine. Now, if you are benefitted, I think you should consider continuing the treatment. However, you can take plain montair.
This need not necessarily mean that you have asthma. The medicine is prescribed in many different conditions. This will include asthma, bronchitis and even allergies.
I hope that the information helps you. Feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
