Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should Orotatre Dosage Be Reduced In Absence Of Muscle Spasms?
I have mitochondrial and was advised to take 800mg in the morning and evening this is also taken in the morning with COQ10 600mg. I just had a neck operation and for 3 days I did not have any magnesium and my muscles were twitching a lot have settled down a lot now but was wondering if I should reduce the orotatre as I do not get muscle spasms.
Dear patient Yes you can reduce the dosage to 400mg a day. However 1) Inform your doctor before doing so. 2) If spasms start again resume original dosage 3) It always preferable to get your blood magnesium level before doing so
Let me inform you that You question says you have mitochondrial. I'm sorry I did not understand. However if you have ALS then you should reduce the dosage only in consultation with your treating physician. I hope that answers your question
