Should Oseltamivir Phosphate Intake For Treating Flu Be Stopped To Avoid Vomiting?
Hi, my friend got flu and doctor gave medicine name oseltamivir phosphate. She had nausea and vomiting after taking one capsule 75 mg of oseltamivir. My question is she need to stop completely to take this medicine or continue to take it? Thank you, Dmitri
Vomiting is quite common with many drugs, including Oseltamivir, most of the times we don't advise to stop the drug after a single episode of vomiting.
We encourage to continue the treatment, as it mostly settles with time. However, if he continued to vomit with the rest of doses, he should inform the doctor for am alternative. But to continue at the moment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
