Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should Rantac Be Taken Before Or After Meals For Mouth Ulcer?
rantac 150 - before or after meals I do not have any stomach problem but the ulcer on tongue (mouth) is persisting for last 3-4 months - spots are not painful but not diminishing either. The Doctor has suggest the above medicine. So, should I take it (rantac 150) - before or after meals and is it helpful to me as well.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I have gone through your question and evaluated the images too.
As per your complain it seems that you have a non-healing ulcer, as an ulcer on tongue that is not healing since 3 to 4 months is not to be taken lightly and you should immediately consult an oral physician and get evaluated.
A thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like biopsy has to be done to rule out the exact cause of ulcer formation and treatment can be done accordingly.
As far as taking Rantac is concerned, it will not resolve the problem and there is no point taking it until you get proper diagnosis done. Once the exact cause is diagnosed, appropriate treatment can then be done accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
