Should Susten 200 Be Taken During Early Pregnancy Without Doing Any Tests?

Hello Dr. I m 36yrs. I am five weeks pregnant, and This is my second child, and the first one is 6 years old. No history of complications, or miscarriages. My doctor prescribed sysfol folic acid tablet and susten 200 for me . She didn t do any tests, or test the progestrone level. Booked for an ultra sound and some normal tests after 15 days Although I read from the internet that this extra progestrone could be dangerous. Pls help!!!

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Actually Susten 200 mg is meant for supplementing hormone for safty of pregnancy in vulnarable pregnancy.
You should test for pregnancy before taking such high dose hormone medication.Apart from confirming pregnancy .. exclusion of exclusion of irregular periods causing delayed period,ectopic pregnancy or blighted ovum needs to be confirmed.... for unnecessory hormone intake may lead to hormonal imbalance and it's effects can cause harmful to your fertility.
Consult a consult a gynecologist before taking the medicine.
