Should A Child With Cylindrical Power Of 1.5 Wear Glasses?

Hi there, my child is just completed 4and she is having cylindrical power -1.5 for both eyes. Does she have to wear glasses all the time. This power is going to be there for her life time? Is it reduced over the time. And one more thing she is blinking left eye frequently. Is it some kind of weakness. We have done thyroid and vitamin D tests as prescribed by Dr. She is fine with thyroid but vitamin D is 27 for 30. When she was 15 months old her vitamin D was zero. Is that the problem for her vision. We are very much worried for her blinking and vision.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Cylindrical changes in eyes are mostly congenital which means come from birth and can't be changed. A person should keep glasses to correct this imperfections. I don't think this can get better with time.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
