Should A Doctor Be Consulted After Inhaling Orange Juice?

My 20 year old son inadvertently breathed in some orange juice. He breathed in just as he was swallowing. He coughed quite a bit. About 10 minutes later he was feeling quite uncomfortable - started to heave and actually puked a little. He is feeling better and has gone to bed. Does he need to see a doctor? Should we be concerned about developing pneumonia?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Unless examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
If he is taking breathing deeply with tachypnea, if saturation is not sufficient or coughing or wheezing or altered mental status means take him to doctor. Other wise conservative management is sufficient. Please consult your pediatrician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
