Should A Soft Silicone Dressing Around A Wound Be Removed?
I’ve just had surgery on my foot so I could get some oyster shell out and they’ve put a soft silicon dressing over the open wound (they didn’t use stitches to prevent infenctions) and I was wondering if I have to remove the soft silicon dressing or if it just stays in there. Thank you
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I suggest you revisit your concerned doctor for any change in the dressing as it would reduce further infection and also the doctor would be able to review the wound too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
