Should A Specialist Doctor Be Consulted For A Tick Bite With A Rash Around It?

I was bitten by a tick and now have around rash at the site about the 1 1/2 in. In diameter. My nurse practitioner prescribed doxy- cyclone for 3 weeks. She has not looked at it or done any testing. Should I be asking to be referred to a specialist?

Hello there,
The pink skin is the healthy skin which is revealed after the lacerated Skin comes off.
If it is blistered, then you must put a topical antiseptic cream: TBact three times a day for 7 days. Keep the wound open
Also, I suggest start an oral antibiotic like Azee once a day for 5 days post meals.
Hope that helps!
