Should A Stillborn Be Separated Immediately From The Mother?
Dr, my sister just found out at 181/2 weeks that she lost the baby. They did not find a heartbeat. She was referred for a 3-D ultresound and it we discovered that the any was deceased for approximately a week. The physician further stated that the any had a lot of fluid in its body, signs of cleft lif and an issue associated with her spine. Heart failure was the ultimate demise. She will have a procedure to take the baby eight days from now. This does not seem right. Please advise
Hello there! Thank you for writing us here. Well, a case of still birth is complicated itself. The main complications could occur in the coming weeks. I expect the gynecologist there would remove the fetus as soon as possible. Your sister would be having heavy bleeding per vaginum which itself would be a complication. All she need is proper management. Best regards, Dr Gunjan
