Should Additional Vitamins Be Taken In A Diabetic?
I have been treated for diabetes for six months now and probably had it for two or three years prior to that. With medication , I have brought it under control for a about a month now. My question is whether ED would be something I can recover from or I have to use supplements from now on? If there is a chance of recovery, how long is normal?
Dear Sir, Erectile dysfunction due to high sugars is common and in nearly 50% of patients recovery happens spontaneously after controlling sugars. another small fraction of patients may require neurovitamins. A very small percentage of patients require tablets for erection. In your case since the duration of diabetes is less you will recover faster with vitamin supplements. Stress at this stage can prolong your recovery. Generally by 6months you should be back to normal. If it is delayed you can meet you diabetologist who can suggest medications after conducting some precautionary medical test. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Dr.Riyaz
