Should An Ophthalmologist Be Consulted For Eye Bleeds?
I am a diabetic, and have had laser treatment for eye bleeds. I have had one two days ago which is slowly disapearing..... do I need to see the eye specialist soon I do have a appointment with him in august.I live a days journey from my specialist which is why I am asking you.
Short Answer: No, you shouldn't, if you don't have other complaints.
Detailed Answer: - The hemorrhage is not damaging to the eye or vision. - The blood reabsorbs on its own over several weeks. - Seek medical advice if you have a haemorrhage in both eyes at the same time or if the subconjunctival haemorrhage coincides with other symptoms of bleeding including easy bruising, bleeding gums or both.
