Should Antibiotics Be Taken To Cure Swollen, Sore Throat, Hoarse Voice, Bloody Phelgm With Cough?
Hi last Thursday night I could feel my throat swelling up it was like a golf ball in it on Friday it was a little sore and that night kept coughing . . Saturday and Sunday was bed bound as had high fever n chills . . Monday same with fever and my voice went horse . . .Sunday coughed up phelgm with blood in it too I ve been taking cold and flu tablets and benilyn too . . its more of a dry cough with pressure in head and chest and my tongue is gone all furry too . .do I need antibiotics ???

Thank you for query.All the symptoms like throat pain ,fever, etc are suggestive of bacterial infection.you should have a course of antibiotics and evaluation of blood in sputum as well.consult a GP. regards

The bad odour could be due to many reasons 1.mental or physical stress. 2.when a person's blood sugars are poorly controlled and they develop a condition called ketoacidosis. This condition not only gives the breath a fruity smell but can also cause a distinctive body odor
3. It is a sign of serious liver or kidney disease where the body is incapable to processing and removing certain toxins due to the diseased organ.
4.Occasionally, an overactive thyroid can cause a problem.
The diagnosis of such conditions are diagnosed, and treated the odours are removed.
So i advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
