Should I Be Concerned About Forgetfulness After Head Injury?

son came home (20) from a concert.. he was hit in head... he has been home for 2 hours now and says he cant remember what happened... he sat with me for 20 minutes, just went down to check on him, he seems fine, but doesn't remember sitting with me. is this cause for concern to go to emergency room?

Hi,
I'm very sorry to hear about your son
It is common to forget the events surrounding a minor head injury this can be indicative of a minor concussion. If your son develops any of the following symptoms like irritability, persistent headache, vomiting, loss of consciousness, seizures, weakness in any limb, dizziness then he needs to immediately see a doctor in the er. Right now if he has no symptoms or did not have any of these symptoms after the trauma then he doesn't need to go to the er.
