Should I Be Concerned About My Blood Pressure Being 152/90?

my blood pressure at rite aid was just 152/90 and I am 37. I am being treated with lisinopril and have never seen it this high. Should I be concerned.

I am 5' 11" and 215. I have to have both hips replaced due to a birth defect which has led to increase in weight.

Thank you for the query.
I would like to enquire about your gender, the duration of your hypertension and whether you are suffering from any other comorbidities like thyroid dysfunction, dyslipidemia or diabetes mellitus.
As per the provided information, you are 37yrs old, hypertensive (on lisinopril) and obese (BMI-30 kg/m2), with a history of bilateral knee joint replacement. As per your age, your preferred blood pressure should be less than 140/90 mm of Hg (as per the JNC VIII guidelines). A single reading of high BP should be followed up with subsequent blood pressure recording which may be normal again (atleast 3 readings maybe necessary). Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and a preferred first line drug for hypertension. In case you have persistantly high BP recordings, you must consult your physician, since your drug regimen may need a review.
Please follow a salt restricted diet, since it helps a lot to control high blood pressure. If possible, i would advise you to attempt to lose weight (by following a strict dietary regimen).
Hope this helps you out.
Regards,
Dr. Ayusmati Thakur
