Should I Be Concerned About My Fasting Sugar Level Being 145?
My doctors office just called and said the results of my fasting blood sugar level is 145. I also had a prior fasting level of 186. I wont see my doctor until next week. Should I be on medication along with a change in my diet? Do these numbers make me a diabetic?
Hello, Fasting blood sugar levels above 126 and post prandial blood sugar levels above are clearly indicative of diabetes. Treatment of diabetes doesn't mean only medications but require a lifestyle changes like observing proper dietary control and doing regular aerobic exercises for at least 45 minutes a day. You must strive to shed your weigh and be in required range of your BMI. It is very important on your part to control your blood sugar levels meticulously so as to avoid various types of future macro as well as microvascular complications. Get your PP sugar and HBA1c test done and consult your doctor for proper prescription. Thanks
