Should I Be Worried About Colour, consistency And Frequency Of Stools In My Child?
Hi My 15wk old son has had loose stool for about 8 days. I thought it may have been the fenugreek i was taking to increase my milk supply. I stopped taking it but no change to his stool except the colour is now green instead of mustard. He is showing some signs of teething. My concern is the colour, consistancy and frequency of his stool. He seams unbothered by it all, except for a mild fever tonight. Thank you, Mel
I really appreciate your concern, passing of in pediatric age group greatly changes and most of the time it is self limiting may not need any treatment unless it is the infection. In case of infection (Bacterial) antibiotic may required according to causative organism and in case of viral infection it may not need any treatment, if this is the protozoa then it can be treated with Metronidazole, but such treatment is seldom needed,
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain Shaikh
