Should I Be Worried About The BP Reading 170/80? Suggest Medication
Hi, my father who is 70 years old got a bp reading of 170/80. He has been advise amlong 5 mg tablet. Please advise what the bp reading indicates, risks...also is the prescribed tablet appropriate and if it has side effects. Thanks for your time.

normal bp ranges from systolic 90-119 and diastolic 60- 79mmhg
your father is suffering from hypertension and amlong 5mg is a good drug
keep monitoring your fathers blood pressures timely to see whether they are under control ,an additional antihypertensive is added if blood pressures are consistently on higher sides
risks include heart problems,eye problems etc
