Should I Be Worried About The Lump On The Ear Lobe?

Hi Doctor, I had a bee sting on my ear lobe this past saturday, and have now since noticed a lump directly under my lobe on my neck (near the end of the jaw bone). It is sore to touch and is probably just larger than a pea. Should I get this checked out at my local GP?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,welcome to healthcare magic forum.
I guess the lump appeared at the site of sting(else,we have to think of parotid infection/ swelling). It is now infected, and need treatment with antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs.I usually give ampicillin+cloxacillin to my patients(if not allergic to penicillin). If the swelling does not come down in 2-3 days, may need incision and drainage. Also, take tetanus toxoid injection if you had not one recently.
I hope you will find this information useful.Thank you.
