Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son just turned 7 and he has developed a very normal looking raised mole on his back within the past few years (same dark brown color throughout, symmetrical, not red or irritated looking). He just told me this evening that it hurts when it is touched. He didn t want me to put lotion on it for fear that it would hurt. I rubbed and pressed on the area around the mole and he says that doesn t hurt. Touching the mole itself, though, does hurt him. Is this something I ought to worry about or is this normal?

Hi dear. I were to examine for a change in colour, shape, size and feel of mole before I plan the management.Painful mole might be a concern but associated changes have also to be considered before making further diagnosis.Hope this answers your query.
