General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello!
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
It is normal that after a fall in the hit area will appear a bruise. It is called hematoma and it is a collection of blood outside of a blood vessel. It occurs because the wall of a blood vessel wall, artery, vein or capillary, has been damaged and blood has leaked into tissues where it does not belong.
If he can move freely his arm without feeling pain than you don't need to worry.
The bruise will go away gradually day after day.
You can put some cold compresses in his arm.
If he feel pain in this arm you can give him some Ibuprofen or Tylenol.

Hope my answer has helped.
Take care
