Should I Be Worried After Giving Clonodine And Melatonin Twice The Dosage To A 10 Year Old Girl?
My 10 year old daughter is prescribed .1 mg clonodine and 5 mg melatonin at night to help with sleep. I gave her med. after her bath then learned about hour later my husband had also given her the med. before her bath. Will she be OK or should we take her to the ER?
I a so sorry to hear about this accidental over dosage. I will suggest that you monitor the child closely. If she should sleep deep and for longer, get drowsy or have difficulties breathing, please get her to the ER. If none of this is present, I will suggest that you stay calm and remain observant.
Please, always assign the duties of drug administration to a single person. Aso, always try to find out if the medications have been administered or not before doing so each time.
I wish you well.I hope you find this information useful. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to request for more information if needed. Thanks. Dr. Ditah, MD.
