Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is experiencing pain in the left side of his face. He is 37. He has been getting over a cold the past week or so. We are just wondering if it is something we need to be concerned about. He is not having slurring of speech or anything like that.
Hi, Thanks for your query. Preceding history of cold and pain in left side of the chest indicates something sort of sinusitis frontal or maxillary. It may be neurogenic pain too. He may go for x-ray Paranasal sinus and see whether they are inflamed or not. If they are, a course of antibiotic consisting of amoxycillinclavulanic acid and analgesic like paracetamol will be enough, along with steam inhalation to facilitate the sinus drainage. If it is not the case better visit a physician to get properly examined and treated...
Best wishes
