Should I Consider Radiation Therapy For Atypical Cells In Bronchial Tube?
I have been told that I have Atypical cells on my bronch tube located right where the lungs split, therefore making in inoperable. A biopsy was take during a bronchiescope (sp)
and was told it was not cancer but obviousely could become cancer. I got pneumonia in Sept 2013 and it still has not cleared up. Theory being those cells are blocking the infection from leaving the lung and allowing good air in, basically operating on one lung. I an using oxygen, 2 lpm. Should I consider radiation?
thanks for asking your question I completely understand your issue actually you have involvement of the carina . so first a bronchoscopy should be considered and a bipsy can be taken from the area. all atypial cells are not malignant a biopsy will diagnose the lesion and if it is cancer or malignancy the typing can be done after typing is done chemotherapy or radiation or both can be considered because each type of cancer have different drugs or chemotherapeutic agent dont panic consult a pulmonologist for a bronchoscopy and an oncologist for further treatment after reports thanks feel free to ask more questions may god bless you with good health
