Should I Continue Amoxiclav For Dengue Despite Having Normal ESR Levels?
Sir,my father had suffered from dengue a month back in which his platelet count had fallen to 48000, but he recovered well and when discharged his count was more than 1 lac.now after two weeks he is having high fever.. With small pus filled papules on stomach and hips.. Esr is 58 and platelet count is 78000.Fbs is 80,rest all tests are normal. Doctor has given amoxyclav for five days? What else should I do? Is there any thing to Worry?

hi amoxicillin +clavulinic acid(amoxyclav ) is safe in conditions with low platelet count. it is a good antibiotic for the infected papules. please continue with the complete course. recheck ESR, PLATELET COUNT, SUGAR LEVELS,WBC COUNT AFTER 1 WEEK. to control temperature you can start with paracetomol 650 tabs at regular intervals. all the best take care
