Should I Discontinue SMZ/TMP DS If I Have A Rash On The Body?

My daughter is on SMZ/TMP DS 800MG/ 160..for tx of Cystitis.. She has the thallasemia trait..Today she is on day 7 of the 10 day dosage. She developed a VERY ITHCY & visable rash, looks like hives. Yesterday she graduated from college, she had a graduation gown on for 4 hours.. she mayve gotten too warm inthat..she has not specifically been exposed to direct sunlight..Should we discontinue the remainder of her dosage

Hi.
SMP/TMP 7 day course should be sufficient to treat cystitis. U can discontinue the drug.
Besides get urine routine done. If pus cells are As far as rash and itch is considered, visit a dermatologist who can advise avil or cetrizine with monteleukast or steroids for her.
