Should I Get My Foot Checked For A Bruises After An Injury?

I landed on my right foot sideways about two nights ago. A few hours after it happened, it was slightly swollen with a small bruise in the little crevice on the top of my foot right below the ankle. However, I had to do a lot of walking between classes today and by now, the bruise has spread across the most of the top of my foot from the ankle down to the base of my toes, and there is also a pretty defined bruise line on the right outer edge of my foot... I can walk but only if I don't place much pressure on the right side. I was wondering if I should get this checked out, or wait a few more days to see if the pain subsides?
Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to musculo-skeletal injury.
The bruise is due to accumulation of blood & fluid, which will subside on its own.

Till then, management involves:
1. Intake of Diclofenac+Serratiopeptidase preparations to provide relief from pain & swelling.
2. Pantoprazole preparation.
3. Supplements of Calcium & Vitamin D can be included in his diet which will help in strengthening of bones.
4. Maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.

If the pain still persists, X ray of the foot & ankle joint can be done to rule out any pathological cause for the symptoms.

Wishing a good health.
Take care.
