Should I Go For Tonsillectomy If My Tonsils Are Swollen And Painful?
About two hours ago I felt something in the back of my throat near my tonsil.I thought it was food but after gargling it was still there. I looked at it to see a red tag looking thing on my tonsil. I had tonsilitis about a week ago and although the spots and redness are gone from ny tonsils they re still swollen and they hurt when I sneeze. Should I prepare myself to have them removed?

If you had tonsillitis only once in a while there is no need for tonsillectomy.
the persistent pain in the tonsillar region may be due to residual infection as a result of stopping antibiotics in the middle of the course.
Try betadine mouth garlges 2-3 times per day.
