i have a new adult tooth that is growing ontop of my baby tooth and the piece of my gum inbetween the two is loose. It is only atached by one side to the main part of my gum. I dont know what to do, do I cut it off or leave it??? Do I have gum dieases is this something to worry about??
A loose gum at the site of erupting tooth is normal thing and you need not to worry about it.
The only thing you should take care is that in case of retained milk tooth the position of erupting permanent tooth gets disturbed causing rotation and mal-alignment of teeth..
You should consult a dentist and get evaluated, an x ray can be done to check the status of the roots of the milk teeth..
If required get the milk tooth extracted and do not worry about the gum as the tooth will erupt and the gum will take its place..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
