Should Misoprostol Be Take Orally Or Vaginally After A Miscarriage?

hi, i am in a middle of a miscarriage my baby died but hasnt passed through the doctor in emerge said she will insert something to help the process ..but late she never returned but a nurse came in with 4 mistoprostol (cytotec tab) 200mcg and she told me to swallow all four then i waited and still no doctor then a different nurse came back and said i could go but still nothing was inserted? did i take these pills wrong?
