Should Morning After Pill Be Taken After Protected Sex?
I just had an IUD placed in 5 days ago (Mirena, not during my period as is recommended, and they say to normally wait 7 days to have sex if that is the case), and I had sex last night, he finished in a condom, but fear pregnancy from pre-ejaculation and was wondering if it was advisable to take the morning after pill to be certain. 23, 145lbs, no relevant medical history.
Hi, Thanks for consulting us. IUCD is itself a method of post coital contraception, so I think morning after pill is not required. However, if you were sexually active in the current cycle ( up to 5 days prior to IUCD) then even morning after pill can't give you any protection. Wish you good health. Take care.
