Should Overnight Monitoring Be Done After Surgery For Broken Ankles?

On sunday, My 85 yr old mother broke her ankle on both sides and outpatient surgery is scheduled for Wed. I am concerned that she will not stay overnight for monitoring. Should we ask for a second opinion and is it ok to delay surgery in order to do that

Hi, thank you for the query.
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Generally, following a surgical intervention, a patient is supposed to be monitored for post operative complications. These complications might occur immediately or after few hours or days following the procedure. In the case of your mother, surgery might be delayed but it is important for her to be monitored after the surgery.

I hope that answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. We will be delighted to answer more questions from you.
I wish her good health
