Should Persisting Ankle Pain With Bruising And Swelling Be Rested?

My daughter is a 10 year old competitive gymnast. She hurt her ankle at practice and it immediately bruised ans swelled. I brought her in to the doctor and they did an xray and could not tell if there was an issue in the growth plate area of the ball of her ankle. She rested it for 2 weeks and went back to the sport. Her ankle is taped, but she has severe pain after every practice and meet. When she gets up in the morning she favors it and hobbles on it. During the day she said it mildy hurts but does not stop her from doing her daily activites. She has a very strong pain tolerance. The season is now over. Do you think it should be re xrayed or should we just rest it and the pain and tenderness should go away. Please advise.
