i have a small cyst on the inner corner of my eye. it started as a small pimple like thing that was sore and itchy. it is no longer sore but it is swollen in comparison to other side. my gp said its a cyst and will need to be removed . it will not go itself ,is this true.

hello welcome to HCM,
1.from your description , it is an blocked sebaceous gland opening normally at the eye lid margin.
2.the acute infection in it has subsided ,and it may reduce in size with some antibiotic+ocular painkiller drops (moxifloxacin+bromfenac) and hot fomentation.
3.however if it is larger than 3mm it might require a small drainage ,which is a day procedure.
