Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should Smoking Be Completely Avoided During Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Nodes?
I am a mild marijuana user (few times a month) and I have recently had a sore throat and some swollen lymph nodes. I ve had this issue for the past 3-4 days, and although it is gradually getting better. I was wondering if I should stop smoking until it passes over, and if there are any other course of actions I should take. Thanks!
I can understand your concern. If you apply heat to any inflamed or infected area, it is going to worsen. You are having sore throat and tonsillitis means your throat and tonsils are inflamed and infected.
In this situation, if you will smoke, the inflamed area will be affected by the heat and harmful chemicals present in the Marijuana making the inflammation and infection more severe and will take more time to heal.
Thus, my advise to you is to stop smoking at all until you are perfectly healthy and there is no infection and inflammation. In fact, if you can stop smoking at all, your physical, mental and financial health will improve a lot.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
