Should Surgery Be Done For Vaginal Bleeding In Old Woman?
My Mom is 83 and has dymentia. her doctor suggested to her that he do a D & C as well as take a biopsy to see if there's any cancer present because 2 months ago, she had some bleeding, but has since stopped. Do you recommend that she have this surgery at her age and condition? I asked him what he would do if she did have cancer, God forbid and he said a total hysterectomy! I had that at age 34 and certainly wouldn't want my 83 y/o Mother to go through at her age and with dymentia no less! What do you think she should do?
Good day! Old ages are always a risk for surgeries as there are anesthetic complications and need a lot of monitoring. COnservative treatment is best and recommended. good luck
