Should The ER Be Visited For Fluctuating Body Temperature?
My almost 59 year old husband has had fevers that fluctuate up and down for the past six days. The night before last we went to an urgent care facility. Chest X-ray should no pneumonia. His blood tests show no flu. Potassium and glucose and white blood cells are slightly high. The only other symptoms are back pain up on top of back (was on right side is now on left side), a little nauseous a few days ago, is eating very little. His temp will go from low 99s to 101s (was 103.5 before starting Levoquin on Friday night. Can we wait to go to his doctor tomorrow or should I take him to the ER or urgent care again. He has severe neuropathy in his feet and presently has a toe infection, but was already taking Keflex for that. Were are just worried about sepsis or staph. Thank you.
Continue levofloxacin and use tablet Paracetamol thrice a day for five days. If his symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
