Should The Complete Course Of Teenage Booster Vaccines Be Re-taken If Discontinued?
Hello, For some reason I got it into my head that I had my booster jabs at 15. My twin sister had them and she was sure that I went with her, but thinking back on it I am almost certain I didn t. I m 20 now, if I go to the doctors will I have to have the whole course again? Thank you Charlotte Mitchell
I have read your query and understood your concern. Center for disease control recommends appropriate immunization for vaccine preventable disease in the teenage also. Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, Measles, mumps, Rubella, hepatitis B, human papilloma virus, influenza, some meningitis are the diseases that are preventable with the vaccines. Immunization schedules are available there in the health centers. Certain vaccines are necessary to get into school or job. It is not like that that to get all the shots, if you missed one. It is enough to get the shots that are missed. Visit the Doctor with your immunization card for further details.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
