Should The Pus Oozing Scraped Wound Be Sprayed With Bactine?
I scraped my leg while sliding in softball on Thursday night. It is a pretty big scrape. It s a little pussy, red, a little swollen and it hurts. I have been taking Advil and spraying it with bactine or using a burn ointment or bacetracine. I am not sure if it is healing or if there is anything else I should do. I have used gauze on it on and off. Should I let it dry out or keep spraying it with bactine?
Hello thank you for writing us here. I would suggest not to cover it with anything. Just use a good antiseptic on it. The ointments are available easily in market. Soframycin is good so I would suggest you to take that. Rest it would be alright in a week. Also make sure the wound is clean and washed everyday with soap and water and allowed to dry before using antiseptic ointment. God bless you
Best regards, Dr Gunjan
