Should The Scar Tissue Caused Due To Surgery Be Removed?

I ve had lymphedema in only one leg for over 15 years. About a year and a half ago a surgeon removed an inguinal node to see if a reason for the swelling could be found. His diagnosis was the swelling was probably due to an injury such as an insect bite or some other unknown that caused scarring in the lymphatic system of my leg. Since the surgery I have had a lump where this surgery was. It has increased in size and it protrudes enough to be visible. I would estimate it to be about the circumference of a quarter in size. The surgeon said he thought it was scar tissue, and could remove it if I wished. Should I be concerned? Should I have it removed? Or, should I just ignore it?
