Silver Nitrate Cauterization Of MOHS Surgical Wound Left Open. Second
Silver nitrate cauterization of MOHS surgical wound left open. Second procedure on BCC site. Insufficient skin to close on forehead. Cauterization 10 weeks after surgery. No infection. Pressure bandage will be removed 48 hrs. after cauterization. What is recommended after care while the wound is healing closed and what if any topical applications will promote healing? I am a chronic BCC patient. I have a history of dozens of BCC's removed from face and scalp. My wounds have been closed with sutures, skin grafts and xenografts. Anticipate more open wounds left to heal in the future. Please advise on the most acceptable wound care protocol for large open wounds of the face.
