Skin Hanging From The Hand After An Injury From Glass. Swollen Knuckle. Need Advice
I accidently cut my hand with glass. It jabbed into my skin but went upwards rather then deep so now I have a small layer of skin hanging over most of my wound. It is also right next to the knuckle of my pointer finger. This happened two days ago and today it is a bit swollen. Advice on treatment would be very helpful. Thanks.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
You need to keep the wound clean, do a regular antiseptic dressing, Take oral antibiotics and keep the overhanging flap of skin as it is. I=f the cut is deep then stitches might be needed for proper healing.
