Skin On Nose And Between Eyebrows Peeling Off, Skin Gets Red. What Is Going On?
The skin on my nose and between my eyebrows cracks/flakes and then I can take a tweezers and peel off the skin in large pieces. It does not burn nor is the layer I peel off deep enough to even cause redness. It is pretty constant. However, I can sometimes go days and the skin on my nose is normal and without any cracking peeling, Then suddenly, it starts again
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic, You seem to be having seborrhoeic dermatitis. Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a chronic condition, but very much controllable. It is caused by an yeast called malasezzia. This yeast is a normal resident of human body and once its colony increases you mount reaction against it causing rash. This yeast loves oil and therefore it is seen more in oily skinned.
So the aim of any treatment is to bring down the colony of malasezzia. ketoconazole 2% cream twice a day will help but you need a prescription for it. Avoid applying oil on the face and scalp. Hope this helped Take care
