Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This question is in regards to my 36 year baby sister. For about three weeks now, her heart has been skipping beats to the point that it is quite disrupting. Now for the strange part; it ceased skipping beats all last week while she was in her menstrual cycle. A couple of days ago, when her period ended, the skipping started as it before. Also, it is puzzling that she has vivid, strange dreams that seem to last all night long when she has these episodes. Can you provide me with any input as I am very concerned for her!
In the setting of skipped beats that disrupt lifetsyle, an arrhytmia needs to be ruled out, such as a heart block. For this purpose, ambulatory short term monitoring with a Holter (which is worn all day even during sleep) can be obtained to correlate, if the symptoms are as frequent as you describe.
