Small Bump Under Arm, Beneath Breast, Grayish Blue Center. Mammogram Normal. Treatment?
I noticed a pea sized grouth under arm and closer to the bottom of my breast . it has a gray-bluish center and feels like it has an oblong attachment. I have recently had a mamagram and it came back normal. I am only concerned because it is about 2 inches or more from my breast. should i get it checked out? and by whom?
Hi, Thanks for the query. According to your description, the growth could be a swollen lymph nodes or folliculitis. Lymph nodes can get enlarged due to any underlying infection. If the hair follicle gets occluded that can cause folliculitis. Some other possibilities are benign growths like lypoma, skin tags etc. You once consult general surgeon and get examined. By examination she can found out the exact nature of the lesion and treatment can be taken accordingly. If there is any possibility of infection you may need one course of antibiotics. Benign lesions can be removed or left alone depending on the symptoms. Take care.
