Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Small Child, Extreme Fatigue, Vomiting, No Appetite, Mild Fever. Treatment?
My 5 year old girl has extreme fatigue the past 2 days. Just sleeps and sleeps. She threw up yesterday and has no appetite . Has 20-30 minutes of energy then will pass out for hours. This is not normal for her. 2 mornings ago she slept till 9:30am when she normally gets up at 7-7:30. possible light fever yesterday, 99-100, but it wasn t long lasting.
The symptoms that you described need not be taken too lightly. You should measure the temperature and record it. In case it is there then she need to be examined by a doctor and managed accordingly. The symptoms that you described are suggestive that your daughter may be running fever which explains the loss of appetite and energy.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Hi
Are there any loose motions, persistent vomitings or jaundice? How is the oral intake and urine output? Any signs of throat infection? Because child is dull and sleepy , try to give plenty of oral liquids, sips of coconut water and consult your Pediatrician for the examination of her and further evaluation and treatment.
