Small Child Having Acute Otitis Media, Spontaneous Eardrum Rupture. History Of Ear Infections. Treatment?
My one year old son has only ever had one ear infection which was in April 2012. We brought him into the Dr. yesterday 08/13/12 and he got dx with acute suppurative otitis media with spontanious rupture of ear drum. He had not been in any pain until last night he woke up from his sleep in the worse pain I have ever seen with him. What can we do besides doing the antibiotics and ear drops?
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum,
You are doing just the right thing. Antibiotics is what is required. Also can give some pain killer medicine. Just be patient, it will get better. Make sure you re consult your doctor after the course of medication.
Hope your child gets well soon.
